Spartech Corporation – Corporate Site Design & Development

Spartech Corporation home page design

Spartech Corporation's website is unquestionably the largest site I have created in my professional career thus far. Encompassing eleven corporate divisions, along with an additional section dedicated to "green" environmentally friendly products, the number of pages in the site runs to well over 200, conservatively estimated.

Spartech Corporation was looking for a professional and attractive site design that would present to the public its position as a major national and global player in the plastics industry. Color was used as a means of visual organization to sort each of the eleven divisions into producers of plastic sheet (dark blue), plastic colorants and compounds (red), and engineered plastic products (teal), while each division was also given its own unique secondary "home page" and headerbar within the site.

In order to create such a large site, I worked closely with the Project Manager at Captiva Marketing, who oversaw the project and was responsible for content organization, and we met with the client on-site on several occasions to determine the direction of design and production. To see my initial concepts for the site, see my design proposals for Spartech.

Shown below is a Flash movie that allows viewers to "tour" Spartech's Product Development Center, which opened shortly before the site was launched. Captiva's Director of Technology and I collaborated on this Flash portion, which is featured on one of the site's interior pages.
