Signimation specializes in creating personalized motion and still graphic sign advertisements for LCD displays. My clients at Signimation already had an original design for their site, but went to MonsterCommerce for a storefront solution, as well as design services to integrate their original design and make it function within the set capabilities of the cart software. My task required adding, removing, and revising elements of the original artwork to make it fit within MonsterCommerce's platform. The result – a fully-functional e-commerce site that adheres closely to the designer's initial artistic vision.
Some technically and aesthetically interesting features of this site include the use of transparent layers and seemingly free-floating right navigation elements, giving the site a dimension of depth. While relatively easy to produce in a flat graphic or fixed-width site, the fact that the clients wanted a 100% fluid site design added a degree of complexity to the back-end functionality, as the design needed to stretch and contract to fit any monitor size and screen resolution. The request allowed for experimentation and expansion of my technical ability.
